Who we are

AW Hobby Cards organises The Hobby Card Show, held at Pleasley Landmark Centre, Chesterfield Rd North, Pleasley, Mansfield, NG19 7SP. When you send us your details through this website we decide how they are used, which makes us the data controller under the UK GDPR. You can reach us through the contact form.

What we collect

Only what you type into one of the two forms on this site, plus one technical detail:

  • Contact form: your name, your email address, what your message is about, and the message itself.
  • Vendor booking form: your name, business or trading name, email address, phone number, what you sell, how many tables you want, and any notes you add.
  • The page you sent it from, so we know which part of the site prompted the message.
  • Your IP address, processed at the moment you submit in order to limit how many submissions can come from one place and to run the anti-spam check below. It is used for that and not stored alongside your enquiry.

There is no account to create, no newsletter sign-up, and nothing on this site takes a payment. You do not need to give us anything at all to read the site or to come to the show.

Why we can use it

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: you have contacted us to ask something or to book a table, and answering you is the obvious and expected use of what you sent. For a vendor booking that goes on to become an actual table, the basis becomes performance of a contract. We do not use your details to market anything to you.

Who else touches it

  • Vercel hosts this website and passes your submission on. Their servers see it in transit.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile runs a background check that you are a person and not a script. It processes your IP address and some browser signals to do so. It is not a tracking cookie and it does not follow you around the web.
  • Our own system receives the enquiry, stores it, and emails it to the organiser so somebody actually reads it.

We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to anyone else — including the show's sponsor or the traders — unless you have asked us to.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies of its own for advertising or tracking. If analytics is switched on, it is Google Analytics, and it is held in a denied state until you accept it on the banner — nothing is measured and no analytics cookie is set before then. You can decline and the site works exactly the same.

The map on the venue pages is not loaded until you press the button to load it, because Google sets its own cookies as soon as it appears. If you never press it, it never runs.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as they are useful for running the show and answering follow-up questions, and are then deleted. If you want yours removed sooner, ask and we will delete it.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to us using it. Ask through the contact form and we will deal with it within one month.

If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
